Welcome! My name is Maggie Peddicord,

and I am a Yoga Teacher, Health Coach, and current Masters in Nutrition student! The idea for The Healthful Nomad first came to be in 2020 when I started a new research job studying Type 2 Diabetes. I was on track to take the MCAT and apply to Medical School, a dream I had for years. During my research, I realized two important things: 1) I don’t want to just treat disease with medication, I want to focus on prevention and lifestyle intervention, and 2) I’m not meant for the typical structure a 9-5 job provides. This led to me becoming vegetarian for 3 years, getting my Yoga Teacher Certification, and applying to a Master’s program in Food Science and Human Nutrition.

I took some time after that job to travel the US in a skoolie with my partner and my cat, where I decided to transition my services and offerings to an online platform. Traveling demonstrated to me that I can provide healing services from anywhere, and moving to an online platform can provide flexibility for both myself and my clients.

In 2023 I decided to become a Certified Integrative Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and also began my Master’s studies at Colorado State University. Moving to Colorado propelled me to become a weekend warrior - doing everything I can to see and experience the beauty of this state in the time that I have here. Unfortunately, the mentality of going extremely hard on the weekends and not preparing for it through regular exercise caught up with me when I took a hard fall snowboarding and injured my right shoulder, leading to a long road of recovery. This experience has taught me more than anything to remain present and to take care of my body with the proper nutrition and physical activity, and this is also a lesson I would love to pass onto my clients so they can avoid injury in the sports they love most.

Now, I am fortunate to enjoy sports such as marathon training, climbing, yoga, and backpacking, and I look forward to trying other new experiences in the future. My goal as a health coach is to help you safely try new sports or continue old ones and enjoy your status as an adventurer through proper nutrition and physical activity, however that looks for you.

I look forward to mentoring and guiding you to be the best version of yourself, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Together, we can achieve new health habits and tap into your unlimited potential as a spiritual being.
